RE:FASHION AWARDS, SHOREDITCH TOWN HALL, NOVEMBER 2008 In November 2008 Absolute Events had the honour of working on the RE:Fashion Awards, the first event of its kind. The world’s first ethical fashion awards took place in East London’s Shoreditch Town Hall and was hosted by TV presenter, Louise Roe. The awards recognised designers, brands, media and businesses that promote ethical fashion and support environmental projects. Lighting design was key to transforming the venue and exterior of the building all of which were sucessfuly undertaken by the team at Absolute Events. The RE:Fashion Awards’ judging panel included industry luminaries Whistles CEO Jane Shepherdson, designer Katharine Hamnett and Hilary Alexander, fashion director of the Daily Telegraph. One-off creations from leading designers from the fashion industry; Vivienne Westwood, Zandra Rhodes and Jonathan Saunders were modelled by a host of celebrity models including Daisy Lowe, Pixie Geldof, Leah Wood, Portia Freeman and Leah Weller. The event generated much media interest including coverage in the Guardian, greenmystyle.com and Marie Claire; “This fabulous event proved just how eco-chic the ethical fashion industry really has become.” Marie Claire, Friday 14 November 2008 “And thanks for all of your input and assistance.
